Introducing New PSO General Manager Christie Goodwin
Professional musician and Arts Administrator, Christie joined the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra as General Manager in December 2023.
Christie, originally from small-town Alberta, Christie holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Oboe Performance from the University of British Columbia, an Artist’s Diploma in Orchestral Performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music Toronto, and most recently, a Master’s Degree in Arts Management and Leadership from Queen’s University (2023). As part of her Queen’s degree program, Christie held an internship position as Director of the School of Atlantic Ballet in Moncton from September 2022 until October 2023. Previous administrative positions include Logistics Coordinator with Barachois Summer Music and Administrative and Production Manager with suddenlyLISTEN! music in Halifax. Christie served as the Oboe Professor at both Mount Allison University and the Université de Moncton, and was the managing and founding member of the well-known woodwind quintet, Ventus Machina until December of 2023.
Principal Oboist of the Niagara Symphony from 2003-2012, core member of Symphony New Brunswick for over a decade, frequent soloist, freelance artist, and chamber musician, Christie brings a wealth of industry-specific experience to the PSO organization. She and her family are very pleased to have returned to Peterborough and the Ontario arts community.
