Securities
Donating a gift of securities to the PSO provides significant tax advantages:
A tax receipt for the fair market value of the donation in the amount of the closing trading price on the day the PSO receives the security.
Your donation is exempt from the capital gains tax that typically applies to the sale of a security.
We have a brokerage account and can work directly with your broker to take advantage of the tax benefits of donating securities. Please call the PSO office at 705-742-1992 or send an email to info@thepso.org for more information.
