Meet the Maestro Pre-Concert Talk at 2:15PM

Two Canadian classics: Marjan Mozetich’s achingly beautiful “Postcards from the Sky” and Glen Buhr’s atmospheric “Akasha/Sky” combined with Mozart’s crystalline Flute Concerto no. 1 with brilliant up-and-coming virtuoso flutist Gillian Derer. Ottorino Respighi’s moving testament in music to the genius of Renaissance painter Sandro Botticelli is featured in the work, “Botticelli Triptych”, and the PSO pulls out all of its virtuosity to perform Igor Stravinsky’s love-letter to Italy in his “Pulcinella Suite”. This repertoire for smaller orchestra has been chosen in order to spotlight the soloists from within the orchestra.
