The PSO is thrilled to announce its 2019-2020 season, “Hear the Vision”:

  • November 2:   CBC presenter Tom Allen and TSO concertmaster Jonathan Crow combine with the PSO to bring you music by Robert and Clara Schumann and the epic Brahms violin concerto.
  • December 7:   Showplace will be packed for this concert, featuring the Toronto Childrens’ Chorus and tenor Bradley Christensen with the PSO for Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols and other seasonal favourites.
  • February 8:   Experience the depth, excitement and cinematic sweep of Russian composers Prokofiev (Piano concerto No. 1, with David Jalbert) and Tchaikovsky (Symphony No. 5).
  • April 4:   Comic superstar Luba Goy joins us as we break out into the jazzy theatre music from West Side Story (Bernstein), The River (Duke Ellington) and Porgy and Bess (George Gershwin).
  • May 23:  This visionary concert season closes with Bruckner’s profound Symphony No. 4 (“Romantic”) paired with Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24, performed by the brilliant 14 year old Toronto pianist Elijah Orlenko, winner of the 2019 Marta Hidy prize.
