We are beginning our 41st year and I am delighted to serve as the new Chair of the Board of the “best kept” secret in Peterborough! The Peterborough Symphony Orchestra under the outstanding and engaging direction of Maestro Michael Newnham. Our musicians are primarily volunteers who deserve our congratulations and continued support for the extraordinary talent they consistently demonstrate and their unfailing dedication to make “Music Beyond Your Dreams!” Only in Peterborough!

We have been firmly launched into the future after extensive celebrations of our 40th Anniversary Year. It is a time for more challenges, development and new celebrations. To our corporate sponsors and members of the business community we extend our thanks for their continued belief in the PSO. With their loyalty, generosity and fundraising support, we are able to move toward our dreams for the organization and bring you one of the best volunteer orchestras in Canada.

Maestro Newnham has planned an exciting and challenging main series that will dazzle you. He is leading the PSO from Rossini to Brahms, Mendelssohn to Dukas, and Schubert to Beethoven to Strauss, all the while including some exceptional guest artists into the mix.

The PSO champions artistic excellence and cultural inclusion through their music in Peterborough and region. We also are committed to serve and involve our community’s youth in a number of ways:
• Annual concerts, geared to elementary students;
• Outreach and partnership events that extend our music to other communities and schools; and
• Eyego, a special ticket program for high school students.

The PSO is a key component in an artistically rich and vibrant community. You enrich our community by your support and involvement. If you are a musician, consider auditioning.
