The PSO launches its first Music Formations event!: Popular Dissent, April 16

In partnership with Showplace Performance Centre and sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra introduces its first Music Formations event, Popular Dissent. Music Formations are intimate, small-format, general admission events that offer a 45-minute taste of classical music through a creative and modern program, including a casual reception with refreshments.

Hosted by PSO Music Director, Michael Newnham, Popular Dissent features Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8, a very personal work about living under a totalitarian regime, complemented by music of emotion and struggle by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Queen and David Bowie, Radiohead, and Charles Albert Tindley, performed by the PSO String Quartet.
