In partnership with Showplace Performance Centre and sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council, the Peterborough Symphony Orchestra introduces its first Music Formations event, Popular Dissent. Music Formations are intimate, small-format, general admission events that offer a 45-minute taste of classical music through a creative and modern program, including a casual reception with refreshments.
Hosted by PSO Music Director, Michael Newnham, Popular Dissent features Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8, a very personal work about living under a totalitarian regime, complemented by music of emotion and struggle by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Queen and David Bowie, Radiohead, and Charles Albert Tindley, performed by the PSO String Quartet.
