The 2023-24 season has been designed to show off the PSO to its fullest. We are delighted to offer you performances and programs of richness, passion, and variety. Please come and join us on our journey through the full spectrum of the symphonic experience!

The orchestra and I are looking forward to performing some favourites, from the grandeur of Brahms, the wit of Prokofiev, the charm of Ravel and Saint-Saëns, as well as the magic of John Williams.

Special highlights will include a once in a lifetime chance to hear one of the world’s greatest violists: Máté Szücs, until recently principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic, who will premiere a new concerto written for him by Toronto composer and PSO friend Ronald Royer.  Award-winning Canadian soprano Karoline Podolak will thrill us with her crystal-clear renditions of popular arias and holiday favourites. An old friend of mine, percussion diva Beverley Johnston, joins us for a Mediterranean-inspired evening, and virtuoso pianist Sheng Cai comes to the PSO for the first time for the final concert of the season.

As I am about to embark on my 23rd season as the PSO’s Music Director, I am continually looking forward with enthusiasm and eagerness to bring you the very best of what the PSO experience has to offer.
